For prospective Pakistani undergraduate students, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Huawei Technologies (Pvt.) Ltd. Pakistan have launched the Huawei Seeds for the Future Program 2022.

Details:

Due to COVID-19, HEC and Huawei both intended to offer an eight-day online training course in information and communications technology (ICT) for 30 to 40 Pakistani students starting on September 26.

The chosen applicants will engage in virtual cross-cultural contact and get progressive understanding (5G, Cloud, AI, etc.) about the ICT produced by Huawei's headquarters.

Depending on their performance and involvement, they will also be given Huawei's certification, mementos, smartphones, and smartwatches. Students who have already completed this programme, however, will not be taken into consideration this year.

Note that over the last seven years, HEC has chosen 130 students from various institutions in Pakistan, and 55 of them were sent to China by Huawei for a two-week training programme in culture and advanced ICT skills.

Regarding Huawei's Seeds for the Future Program 2022, here is all you need to know:

Who is Huawei:

Huawei was established in 1987 and is now a major player in the field of smart devices and ICT infrastructure. Serving more than three billion people worldwide, we employ around 195,000 people and operate in more than 170 nations and areas.

Huawei wants to bring digital technology to every person, every home, and every business in order to create a fully connected, intelligent world.

To do this, we will advocate for open access to networks and push for widespread connectivity in order to lay the groundwork for an intelligent world. We will also provide diversified computing power in order to deliver ubiquitous cloud and intelligence. We will also build reliable digital platforms in order to help all industries and organisations become more agile, efficient, and dynamic. Finally, we will redefine user experience with AI, giving customers a more individualised and intelligent experience.

Role of HEC in Pakistan:

The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan is a self-governing, independent agency with constitutional authority that oversees, controls, and accredits Pakistan's higher education initiatives.

  • Issuance of the equivalency of degrees and certificates.

With expanded international cooperation in the sciences and technologies as well as greater student and scholar mobility in the contemporary world, the accreditation of institutions, courses, and degree programmes has grown more difficult. The equivalency of degrees and certificates in this situation, as well as their acceptance, present difficult problems for educational authorities. The comparability and manner of recognition for degrees has gotten more muddled due to the growth of degree-awarding institutions - both in the private and public sectors - as well as the range of taught programmes and disciplines. Nevertheless, the HEC has developed a process that enables it to overcome these obstacles and handle all the associated complications.

Now lets move to HEC's Huawei Seed programme.

  • Holders of two nationalities are ineligible to apply.
