"biology." In biology, we'll look at how people have conceptualised
living things. Studying the structures, roles, and related facets of living
things is crucial to comprehending and appreciating nature. The study of living
things also offers knowledge and solutions for issues facing humans with
reference to food, environment, health, and other factors.
Divisions
and Branches of Biology:-
Biology is divided into three main categories that examine
various facets of the life of the main groupings of creatures.
- Zoology:
The focus of this branch of biology is the study of animals.
- Botany:
The study of plants is the focus of this branch of biology.
- Microbiology:
The study of microorganisms like bacteria and other similar
creatures is covered under this branch of biology. These categories are further
divided into many branches in order to investigate all facets of life, as
described below.
- Morphology:-
This field focuses on the analysis of the shapes and
structures of living things.
- Anatomy:-
Anatomy is the study of interior structures.
- Histology:-
Tissue study.
- Cell
Biology:-
Cell biology is the study of the internal workings of cells
and their organelles. Cell division research is under the purview of this
field.
- Physiology:-
This field focuses on understanding how various components
of living things work.
- Genetics:-
Genetics is the study of genes and how they affect heredity.
- Embryology:-
It is the study of how an embryo becomes a new person.
- Taxonomy:-
It focuses on identifying and categorising organisms into
groups and subgroups.

It focuses on the investigation of how organisms and their

This field focuses on understanding the social behaviour of
the animals that form communities.

This field focuses on understanding parasites.
Biotechnology:-
It focuses on the use of living things to produce materials
for the benefit of humanity.
Immunology:-
It is the
study of how animals' immune systems protect their bodies against invasive
microorganisms.
Entomology:-
Insect study is what it is.
Pharmacology:-
It focuses on researching medications and how they affect
the body's systems.
Biology's relationship to other sciences:-
It is impossible to deny the relationships between many
scientific disciplines. Knowledge on numerous features of living creatures is
included in biology, although this information also has connections to other
scientific fields. All fields of science are connected to one another. For
instance, biologists must consult the laws of motion in physics while
researching the movement of animals.
Biophysics:-
It focuses on the investigation of physics concepts that
relate to biological processes.
For instance, there are parallels between the physics of a
lever and the biology of an animal's limbs.
Biochemistry:-
It focuses on the investigation of the chemistry of various
substances and biological processes. For instance, studying photosynthesis and
respiration's fundamental metabolism necessitates a knowledge of chemistry.
Bio-mathematics/Biometry:-
It entails the use of mathematical methods and instruments
to explore biological processes. Biologists, for instance, must use the mathematic
sematic principles while analysing the data obtained after conducting
experiments.
Biogeography:-
It focuses on the examination of the prevalence and
distribution of various types of living things in various climatic zones of the
planet. In order to ascertain the features of the living creatures present there,
it utilises knowledge about the characteristics of certain geographic
locations.
Bioeconomics:-
It focuses on the study of organisms from an economic
perspective. Bioeconomics, for instance, may be used to evaluate the cost and
profit values of a wheat harvest and identify any gains or losses.
Occupations in Biology:-
Today's students, who will hold leadership roles tomorrow,
must have a grounding in the cutting-edge and futuristic scientific fields. A
thorough understanding of biology will aid in understanding science and
scientific research undertakings. It will help students in a wide range of
jobs. The occupations that biology students can consider are listed below.
Medicine Surgery:-
The diagnosis and treatment of human ailments are the focus
of the medical profession. In surgery, bodily components can be replaced,
mended, or removed. Examples include the removal of kidney stones by surgery,
kidney and liver transplants, etc. Both of these professions are covered in the
same MBBS foundational course before students move on to specialty training.
Fisheries:-
The scientific study of fish production is known as
fisheries. Professionals in the fishing industry are engaged in certain
departments in Pakistan. They help to increase both the quality and output of
fish. After completing zoology and fisheries coursework at the bachelor's or
master's level in Pakistan, one may pursue this profession.
Agriculture:-
This line of work works with the food-producing plants and
animals. An agriculturist strives to improve the food-producing plants like
wheat, rice, and maize as well as the animals like buffalo and cows. After

Animal Husbandry:-

in professional animal husbandry courses.
Horticulture:-
It discusses
gardening as an art. A horticulturist works to improve current cultivars and to
create new cultivars of decorative and fruiting plants. Students studying
biology following their upper secondary school can pursue this career.
Farming:-
It deals with the creation and upkeep of various farm kinds.
For instance, some farms utilise animal breeding methods to produce animals
that are superior sources of milk and protein. Chicken and eggs are produced on
poultry farms. Similar to this, many fruit-producing plants are grown in

Biotechnology:-
It is the most recent occupation in biology.
Biotechnologists do research and develop goods using microbes. After completing
a higher secondary biology education and a bachelor's degree in botany or
zoology, universities offer courses in biotechnology.
